Description

Hi,

Monday
Milky Way A few hours after Saturn's opposition!    The planet known as the Lord of the Rings will be placed directly opposite the Sun in the Earth's sky. This means the best conditions for its observation in the year.

During opposition, Saturn rises exactly at sunset and stays with us until the sun rises. The planet in the constellation Capricorn will still tower at a relatively low altitude of about 19 °. Its brightness will be 0.2 mag. which is comparable to the brightest stars in the night sky.

Near Saturn, a little more to the east, there will be a clearly brighter Jupiter. The largest planet in the solar system will be in opposition on August 19, but now at magnitude -2.5. it is the brightest object in the sky most of the night. It can be a good signpost for you in your search for Saturn 🙂
